doMahan, the sticky-note daily planner for Android. Effective date: 11 October 2026.
Who we are
doMahan is made by Virat Chauhan, an independent developer. For any privacy question, write to contact@domahan.com.
Without an account
You can use every feature without signing in. Everything you add is saved only in the app's private storage on your phone and nothing is sent to us.
If you sign in with Google (optional)
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your Google account name, email address and a user ID (from Google, through Firebase Authentication) | To know which backup is yours and show who is signed in |
| Your cards (reminders, daily tasks, grocery and misc: text, notes, colour, date, time, done or not done) | To back them up and keep your phones in sync |
| Your expenses (amount, category, note, date) | Same |
| Your Daily Journal pages and moods, and your older Rough Work note if you used it | Same |
This copy is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) in Google's Mumbai data centre region. It is encrypted on the way (HTTPS) and stored encrypted by Google. Security rules let only your signed-in account read or change it. The developer can technically reach the database to keep the service running, but does not read your notes. We do not use your data for ads, profiling or training AI.
When you delete a card or expense, a small marker (its id and the time) stays in your backup so your other phones delete it too.
What else leaves your phone
- Voice input: when you tap the mic, Android's own speech service, in your phone's language, on your phone (usually from Google) listens and turns your words into text, under that service's privacy terms. doMahan never records or receives your voice; it only gets the text.
- Export my data: only when you tap it, the app makes a CSV file and opens Android's share menu. You choose where it goes.
- Send feedback: only when you tap it, your own email app opens with a draft that includes the app version, phone model and Android version. You can edit it before sending.
- Phone backups: doMahan turns off Google's automatic cloud backup of app files. Moving to a new phone with Android's direct transfer can copy the app data.
Service providers
Google LLC provides Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore to run sign-in and backup. They process data for us under the Firebase data processing terms. We share data with no one else.
Permissions
- Notifications: to remind you at the time you set on a card. Asked only when you first add a time.
- Run at startup: to put your reminders back after the phone restarts. No data is read.
- Internet: only for Google sign-in and your backup. Without an account, nothing is sent.
doMahan does not ask for SMS, contacts, location, camera, storage or microphone permissions. (Voice input uses Android's speech screen, which has its own permission.)
Keeping and deleting your data
Your backup is kept until you delete it. In the app: Profile (top left) > Delete my account. This removes your account and your whole cloud backup straight away. You can also ask by email; see how to delete your account. On your phone, delete single items in the app, or uninstall doMahan or clear its storage in Android Settings.
This website
domahan.com has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes basic request information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and stop attacks. The voice demo on the home page runs entirely in your browser; if you use its mic button, your browser's own speech service handles your voice under its terms.
Children
doMahan is not made for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and its date, and explain bigger changes inside the app before they happen.
